2023-2024 STUDENT LEADERSHIP ELECTION INFORMATION

Duties of the Student Leadership
÷
The president is responsible for representing the student body at all meetings. They will help develop the agenda for meetings and manage the meetings. They vote in case of a tie and must present a fine example for the council. 

The vice president follows the duties of the president when the president is unable to fulfill their duties. They are more hands-on with planning and directing than the president. 

The secretary keeps track of the minutes and handles all communication between the council members. 

The treasurer handles the funds and keeps financial records.

Election Rules

The election for Student Leadership is coming up on October 6!
 
As in the past, students in grade 5 will be able to run for the following positions:
 
  • President 
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
 
Students in grade 4 may run for any of the positions other than President.  Linked are the duties of student leadership  (Duties of Student Leadership)
 
 
Below are the important dates. 
 

9/11/23

Information is sent home to the parents and teachers can answer questions in class

9/20/23

Applications are due from all students interested in running for a position.  

No later than 9/22/23

Classrooms hold a run-off election and choose the top two candidates for each position.  

9/29/23

Candidate videos (Pres/VP) or Slides (Secretary/Treasurer) due for final candidates (instructions coming soon).

10/6/23

3rd-5th grade election on a Google Form after watching the videos and reviewing slides
