MISSION

The Creekside Comet Education Fund (“The Comet Fund”) is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to enhance the quality of education at Creekside Elementary School. Our goal is to enhance the quality of education at Creekside for every student.
WHY DO WE EXIST?

WHY DO WE EXIST?

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization affiliated with the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation specifically for Creekside Elementary School. Click here for our affiliate letter.

The Comet Fund provides a bridge between what is provided by the state and what our Site Council believes will make us an elite school. We use the term "Margin of Excellence" when we refer to the programs that are supported by the donations that fulfill this vision.

These programs and staff positions include:

  • Classroom ParaProfessionals
  • Reading Specialists
  • Vocal Music Teacher
  • Extend Tech Instructors Hours
  • Technology Systems Specialist
  • Extend Librarian Hours
  • Art Instructors
  • Rainbow Room ParaProfessional
  • part of the Copier Lease
  • Class Materials (via Teacher Stipends)
  • IXL Math
  • Raz-Kids
  • Desktops, Computers & Tablets

Schools in the SRVUSD have benefitted from a legacy of giving. Our young school has continued this legacy in our new area and Creekside Elementary has developed a reputation as a school where students excel, they feel safe and where families are eager to be a part of the community.

We have committed to covering $000,000 in staff positions and programs for the 2022-2023 school year. If all families can support fully at registration and our popular Comet Chase, we can meet our goals for this year with no additional fundraisers.
Consider supporting your Comet Fund with a donation.  Teachers, students, staff and other parents appreciate your generosity.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE COMET FUND AND THE CREEKSIDE PTA?

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE COMET FUND AND THE CREEKSIDE PTA?

The PTA conducts school community-building family events where money raised primarily covers the cost of running the events. They hold a fundraiser to support assemblies and certain resources.

The Comet Fund raises money to fund specific positions and programs proposed by our principal and teachers, reviewed by the Board of Directors and approved by the members of The Comet Fund. Think of us like a school "booster" club. See Programs Funded for more information.
HOW DO WE RAISE MONEY?

HOW DO WE RAISE MONEY?

Our primary funding comes from a per child donation request at registration of $695. This tax deductible donation goes to education enrichment at Creekside. The Comet Fund also holds events and run programs throughout the year where parents, educators, and our community are called upon to contribute.

We have signed up our school with various national and local programs to raise funds by asking our parents and Creekside friends to do what you do everyday. By using registered cards, using online shopping portals or eating on special nights, a portion of these purchase will be donated to The Comet Fund. See Everyday Fundraising for these FREE MONEY opportunities.

We hold events and sales throughout the school year where you and your Creekside friends can purchase admission tickets or items. These are wonderful opportunities to build our community and raise money at the same time. See Fundraising Events for more information.
